What is history, and who gets to make it?
This question sits at the heart of Making Histories, a collaborative initiative between RMIT and Deakin researchers, Museums Victoria, and young artists and photographers across Naarm (Melbourne) and Djilang (Geelong).
This symposium brings together intergenerational perspectives to explore what happens when young people become makers (rather than just receivers) of historical knowledges and practices. The symposium focuses on responsible relationships and practices of urban history making on unceded lands in the wake of the Yoorrook Justice Commission Report and Treaty for Victoria.
Presented by RMIT University and Deakin University.
