For more than 165 years Museums Victoria researchers have been inquiring, collecting and collaborating to understand our changing world.

Students will experience

    An improved understanding of how we work to solve issues in our region and globally.
  • Museums Victoria Research Institute's diverse expertise in biodiversity, geology, history, technology and First Peoples’ knowledge and culture is more vital than ever.

Students will learn

  • How new scientific tools and instruments have furthered our understanding of the Tasmanian Tiger. 
  • How research on deep-sea marine life by museum scientists is being used to help save species. 
  • That new fossils of ancient whales are being found even today. 
  • How Museums Victoria scientists use scientific knowledge to manage and protect our native birds.
