Getting here by public transport

Getting here by bicycle
Local bicycle facilities include bike lanes on Rathdowne St and Canning St. There is also a shared pedestrian/bike path on Nicholson St.
Bicycle racks on the Plaza provide ample bike parking just outside the front door.
Parking
Located under Melbourne Museum, the car park is open from 5:30am to midnight daily. Enter via Rathdowne Street or Nicholson Street.
Terms and conditions apply. All rates include GST. Lost tickets incur maximum day rate. This car park is under 24-hour video surveillance.

Melbourne Museum visitor rate
Visitors to Melbourne Museum enjoy $25 parking at Melbourne Museum car park. Simply validate your carpark ticket at the museum information desk and pay on exit at the closest pay station to access this rate.

$15 parking at Melbourne Museum car park all day every day - scan your membership card (or your temporary membership PDF on your phone) on exit at the closest pay station

IMAX rates
IMAX rates can only be obtained with a validated ticket and are valid per exit per day. Validate your ticket at the IMAX Box Office.
Payment
You can pay for your parking at one of our pay stations before returning to your car. The pay stations are located in the lift lobbies on P1 or at the Nicholson Street and Rathdowne Street entry/exits. Pay stations accept card payment only.
Car park proceeds
Proceeds from this car park go towards Museum Victoria’s exhibitions, programs and research.
Accessible parking
Designated acessible parking is available on level P2 adjacent to the lifts.
Permanent parking
Permanent parking is available offering multiple access 24 hours a day for the very competitive price of $400 (incl GST) per calendar month.

Height clearance
The car park height clearance is 2.15m.
Electric Vehicle charging
Two Delta Energy Systems AC EV chargers fitted with type 2 connectors are located on level P2 Nicholson Street. There is no additional cost to use the chargers.
